The Sales Engineer - "Well Testing" is responsible for growing market share and revenue with assigned accounts. The Sales Engineer is also responsible for establishing and building relationships with assigned customers. This person promotes the sale of BL products and services to assigned accounts, utilizing field background expertise to match customer need with applicable solution. The Sales Engineer optimizes sales opportunities through in-depth knowledge of client activities and plans and communicates customer activity and sales opportunities through effective use of sales business systems/processes.

Key Responsibilities:


These responsibilities are activities that correspond to the key processes.


  • Upstream Oil and Gas Industry experienced in technical sales, design or operational support for Surface Well Testing, Drill Stem Test, TCP, PLT and other specialized downhole and surface testing equipment, their instrumentation, validation, standardization, testing, API auditing etc.
  • Capture customer Business Line and all local and international competitor activity in GAC.
  • Identify and qualifies all sales leads and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity pipeline in C4C.
  • Plan client calls and makes regular client visits to ensure appropriate call coverage of assigned accounts.
  • Maintain C4C for accounts, including customer profiling, organizational chart, visit reports, and customer drivers.
  • Work with management to develop sales goals and coordinate sales plans for the promotion of existing services and products and the introduction of new services and products.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive products and services.
  • Contribute to multi-BL activities.
  • Support the marketing strategy of the BL.
  • Monitor price structure and pricing levels and recommends necessary changes and price increases.
  • Attend training courses to maintain knowledge of key technologies as well as competitor practices.
  • Provide support for receivables management


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Capture and manage customer Business Line activity in SLB business system.
  • Manage all local and international competitor intelligence and market share information in GAC.
  • Review and validate the Business Line opportunity pipeline for creating sales revenue forecast and targets.
  • Understand internal and external market drivers; prioritize opportunities and escalate insufficient customer account coverage requirements.
  • Maintain customer relationship management tool for accounts, including customer profiling, organization chart, visit reports, customer drivers, and KPIs.
  • Create and review sales plans, ensuring alignment with Business Line and corporate drivers.
  • Understand country profit and loss, set pricing and strategy accordingly, and develop supporting sales actions.
  • Participate in contract continuation strategies.
  • Contribute to multi-BL sales strategies.

  • Qualification – bachelor’s in engineering and technology from reputed university.
  • Experience – Preferably from Oil and gas upstream industry with minimum 3-4 years experienced as field engineer or field specialist and 3-4 years experienced post-qualification in direct or services sales roles as Sales representative, Sales engineer, in either an upstream Oilfield service company or Oil company, technical dealing with rig equipment sales.
