Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Executive to manage day-to-day transportation operations, coordinate vehicle movement, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain smooth communication between customers, transporters, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate dispatches and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Arrange transportation through approved transport vendors.
- Track vehicle movement and shipment status until delivery.
- Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, transporters, and customers.
- Resolve transportation and delivery-related issues promptly.
- Ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) is collected and maintained.
- Maintain accurate shipment and dispatch records.
- Monitor freight costs and optimize transportation expenses.
- Follow up with transporters for vehicle placement and timely dispatch.
- Coordinate with the Sales team regarding delivery schedules and customer commitments.
- Update customers on shipment status whenever required.
- Ensure all dispatch documents are complete and accurate.
- Handle delivery escalations and coordinate for quick resolution.
- Maintain daily logistics MIS and reports.
- Ensure compliance with company logistics procedures and safety guidelines.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Good negotiation skills with transport vendors.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good analytical and planning skills.
- Strong follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Knowledge of ERP/CRM systems is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of transportation documentation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or any related field.
- 5–10+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or dispatch operations.
- Experience in the Steel, Manufacturing, Building Materials, Cement, Construction, Metals, or Industrial Products industry is preferred.
