Job Title: Associate Engineer

Job Description

The Associate Engineer will perform advanced finite element analysis and classical strength of materials calculations to support the design, verification, and optimization of mechanical and aerospace components and systems. The role focuses on static and dynamic analysis, including vibration, fatigue, and numerical methods, and requires strong technical reporting and communication skills. The engineer will contribute to projects involving stress analysis, machine design, kinematics, and mechanics of materials while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform linear and non-linear stress analysis using finite element methods to evaluate the structural integrity of components and assemblies.
  • Conduct static and dynamic analysis, including vibration studies such as modal, harmonic, and random vibration, to ensure reliable performance under operating conditions.
  • Carry out fatigue analysis to assess durability and life expectancy of mechanical and structural parts.
  • Apply principles of classical strength of materials and mechanics of materials to support design decisions and validate engineering solutions.
  • Support machine design and kinematics evaluations to develop robust and efficient mechanical systems.
  • Utilize numerical methods to model, simulate, and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports that document analysis methods, assumptions, results, and recommendations.
  • Present work results and findings to project teams and stakeholders in a structured and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to interpret analysis outcomes and recommend design modifications or improvements.
  • Use CAD tools such as Pro-E and SpaceClaim to review, interpret, and support the development of 3D models and drawings for analysis.
  • Incorporate knowledge of material processes, including machining, casting, sheet metal, welding, brazing, plastics, and metallurgy, into analysis and design considerations.
  • Contribute to projects involving refrigeration and air conditioning systems, diesel engines, and generators by providing mechanical analysis and design support.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while managing tasks, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience in finite element analysis and classical strength of materials.
  • MS or M.Tech degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Engineering, Industrial Production, Automobile, Automotive, or Science) from a recognized university.
  • 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong experience in static and dynamic analysis, including vibration and fatigue.
  • Clear competency in linear and non-linear stress analysis.
  • Experience with vibration analysis, including modal, harmonic, and random vibration.
  • Solid understanding of machine design and kinematics.
  • Strong grasp of mechanics of materials.
  • Proficiency in numerical methods applied to engineering analysis.
  • High level of communication skills, including technical report writing and presentation of work results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a highly driven, self-motivated manner and deliver results with minimum supervision.
  • CAD knowledge and experience with Pro-E.
  • CAD knowledge and experience with SpaceClaim.
  • Experience with Hypermesh for pre-processing and finite element modeling.
  • Ability to perform dynamic analysis using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Capability to conduct both linear and non-linear analyses.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of material processes such as machining, casting, sheet metal fabrication, welding, brazing, and plastics manufacturing.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgy and its impact on material performance and design.
  • Experience working with refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Experience supporting projects involving diesel engines and generators.
  • Strong presentation skills for sharing technical findings with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • A proactive, highly driven, and self-motivated approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Work Environment

The role is based in a professional engineering environment focused on mechanical and aerospace analysis and design. You will work with advanced simulation tools such as Hypermesh and CAD platforms including Pro-E and SpaceClaim, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams. The position typically involves standard full-time working hours in an office or engineering facility setting, with a mix of independent analytical work and team-based project collaboration. The environment emphasizes clear communication, thorough documentation, and technical excellence, supporting focused, detail-oriented work on complex mechanical systems and components.
