Role Overview

We are looking for an M365 Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the delivery and ongoing operations of Microsoft 365 and collaboration solutions for a global customer environment. This role encompasses technical leadership and operational management primarily across Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Teams Rooms, with additional expertise expected in SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Purview, and Copilot.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, delivery, and operations of Microsoft 365 workloads, including mail flow, application integration, and collaboration services.

  • Oversee Microsoft Teams interoperability across SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and related platforms.

  • Manage Microsoft 365 infrastructure settings, policies, and lifecycle, including feature adoption, deprecation of legacy settings, and remediation based on Microsoft advisories.

  • Expert-level knowledge of Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and email hygiene practices, including anti-spam, anti-malware, connectors, transport rules, and mail flow policies.

  • Ability to design, tune, and manage inbound/outbound mail flow protection, phishing/spoof defence, DKIM/DMARC/SPF configuration, and email threat response.

  • Experience integrating email security tools with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 for layered protection.

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance, compliance, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), information protection, insider risk management, and eDiscovery.

  • Partner with Information Security & Compliance, Data Governance, Legal, HR, Procurement, Finance, and business stakeholders to align controls, policies, and platform capabilities.

  • Ensure Microsoft 365 systems and services remain secure, reliable, and compliant. Drive automation, monitoring, and proactive support practices to ensure service reliability.

  • Maximize AI and agentic automation opportunities across Microsoft Teams and the broader M365 platform, including Copilot, Graph-based automation, workflow intelligence, meeting and communication insights, and next-generation collaboration agents.

  • Pilot and evaluate emerging collaboration tools such as Copilot agents, New Microsoft features, and third-party integrations.

Must Have

  • Minimum 8-11 years of experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange and Microsoft teams)

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise email security gateways and tools such as Cisco IronPort, Sophos Email Security, Proofpoint, or Symantec Email Security

  • Ability to design, tune, and manage inbound/outbound mail flow protection, phishing/spoof defence, DKIM/DMARC/SPF configuration, and email threat response.

  • Support and maintain operational functions for Microsoft Exchange (Hybrid and Exchange Online), Microsoft Teams including Microsoft Teams Rooms.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across enterprise collaboration platforms.

  • Experience in Microsoft 365 migration, system design, and service delivery.

Good to Have

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory (on-prem AD), Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for identity, access management administration in a hybrid environment.

  • Exposure to Print as a Service platforms such as Papercut, Printer Logic, or Universal Print.

  • Exposure to Digital Signage technologies such as Appspace, along with Cisco Control Hub for managing hybrid collaboration devices and integrations with Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate (Purview) (nice to have)

  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (nice to have for Entra ID)

Education

  • Any Bachelors' Degree, preferably BE or BCA or related field (or equivalent experience)
