ADP is looking for a monitoring expert with deeper experience with IBM Netcool Omnibus, IBM Netcool Impact, IBM CloudPak For AIOPS tools with a minimum of 7years of experience. You will be in the Monitoring engineering team responsible for setting up monitors in ADP cloud and AWS. You should have the ability to multi-task while working under pressure and is expected to be flexible to provide afterhours support on need basis. This role requires frequently interfacing with functional and project teams and ensures clients experience, World Class Service when engaged. Should be able to design and architect reasonable monitoring solutions for event management and further alerting into various ticketing (eg: ServiceNow) or escalation tools (eg:OpsGenie).

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Be responsible for maintaining current alert integrations over various Netcool probes (mttrapd, message_bus, Tivoli_eif, spectrum, syslog) into the omnibus system while migrating it to different system (CloudPak For AIOPS). Converting vendor based mib files to ntkl library rule files, writing lookup files for event enrichment.
• Create observer jobs inside CloudPak For AIOPS Toplogy manager to fetch topologies from different monitoring sources and stitch the relations between alerts.
• Hands on experience in Netcool Omnibus 8.1 and Netcool Impact7.1 with ability to install, configure, upgrade, patch and administer the product. You will be writing impact polices to build various integrations into CloudPak For AIOps system. Responsible for maintaining the HA of the system.
• Knowledge of OpenStack and spinning up work loads inside OpenShift container platform and ability to understand docker, containerization and Kubernetes will be an added advantage.
• Configuring various Netcool gateways both unidirectional and bidirectional to achieve the event aggregation needs.
• Knowledge of the ETL concept preferably designing a solution to Extract data from various sources, structure or transform them into our desired shape and load or dump them into a database will be an advantage.
• Hands on experience with API’s both REST as well as SOAP based, knowledge of creating an API using python’s Django framework will be added advantage.
• Expert level understanding with Linux OS preferably RHEL, with ability to write shell scripts to create cron jobs for regular activities.
• Experience and knowledge of Python and ability to write Ansible playbooks will be an added advantage.
• Greater knowledge of Agile Methodologies, DevOps, CICD Tools, AI and ML techniques will be an added advantage. Good team player, mentoring attitude, exceptional written and verbal communication.
• Leveraging the IBM CloudPak For AIOps’s Runbook Automations to be able to perform alert remediations.
• Very good understanding and working experience with all the IBM CloudPak for AIOps features, should be able to showcase value proposition of these features to various product teams.
• Good understanding of AI, GenAI, Agentic-AI concepts to be able to pivot the alerting, AI policies data out of AIOps system to generate summaries and showcase insights.

What Will you be Doing

• Code impact polices to perform various event correlations or creating various integrations into the CloudPak For AIOps system
• Creating and coding rule files to start enriching events coming out of different probes.
• Installing new probes if required, maintain the rules for an internet facing message_bus probe to accept alerts out of internet into our Netcool omnibus engine.
• Recommend Architecture to expand our probes to different geographical regions, install new collection servers if needed.
• Work with the vendor on setting up the new CloudPak For AIOps Primary setup for Production as well as Staging environments. Individually install a similar setup for Secondary setup and a Lab setup.
• Monitor the health of the entire CloudPak For AIOps system running as a docker container inside the OpenShift cluster. You will be tuning the compute resources used by this application via standard Kubernetes workload yml files.
• Architect and design solution for new technologies to be sending events to netcool.
• Regular maintenance and backup activities of CloudPak For AIOps system.
• Define standards for consumption of WatsonX tokens for the alert summarization and diagnosis features.
• Define standards around consumption of Metric/Log Anomaly detection feature of AIOps.
• Must be able to well position this tool and it’s deliverables to bring in value to the overall observability across teams.
• Build cross application product dependency topologies and correlate alerts to point root causes of issues.
• Must be able to correlate any outage to alerts into AIOps and reduce the noise for teams to consume in their war-rooms.
• Showcase improvements with AIOps to various teams w.r.t their MTTR reduction and tangible results into overall observability, which was not possible with traditional monitoring/alerting.
