TEAL-Lead Automation Software Engineer

Titan Company

Job Requirements

As Lead Automation Software Engineer in TEAL's battery business, you will guide a team building and maturing the automation and software platforms that power advanced manufacturing equipment for the Indian market. You will set technical direction across the full stack of industrial automation—control systems, PLC/SCADA logic, motion and drive control, human-machine interfaces, and data platforms—while ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll stay close to the code, control logic, and architecture while mentoring your team and orchestrating delivery, operating at the intersection of industrial automation, software, and emerging AI capabilities.

  • Lead and mentor a team of automation and software engineers, and own the planning and delivery of the team's roadmap.
  • Set and uphold technical standards for control architecture, code quality, testing, and documentation.
  • Guide the design and programming of PLC, SCADA, and motion control systems for battery manufacturing equipment and automated production lines.
  • Guide the design and enhancement of HMI software optimized for local operators and shop-floor environments.
  • Oversee integration of automated equipment—robotics, machine vision, and sensors—into cohesive, reliable production lines.
  • Direct the build-out of data acquisition and monitoring dashboards for line OEE and yield tracking.
  • Own integration of equipment software with enterprise MES and ERP systems (SAP and custom platforms).
  • Establish software test plans and regression testing standards for firmware and control-logic releases.
  • Lead automation commissioning and troubleshooting, and coordinate remote support to on-site service teams.
  • Drive the ongoing development of TEAL's standard automation and software platform architecture.
  • Champion the adoption of AI tools to enhance machine intelligence, error detection, and preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinate across mechanical, electrical, controls, and product teams, and report progress and risks to leadership.

Work Experience

  • B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, SCADA/HMI, or embedded systems.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring engineering teams (formal or informal).
  • Hands-on expertise with Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT, or equivalent PLC platforms.
  • Experience with motion control, servo drives, and automated equipment integration.
  • Proficiency in Python, C#, or C++ for tool and utility development.
  • Strong command of OPC-UA, MQTT, and other industrial communication protocols.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex automation/software projects on schedule.
