DESCRIPTION
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics - Central Support Team is currently looking for a Database Engineer position for it’s Hyderabad, India office to design, develop and manage the persistence solutions that serve and support FTR needs. Database engineer will be part of the worldwide operations and responsible for designing, managing and maintaining highly complex, confidential, mission critical and high availability databases in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
A day in the life
A typical day on our team involves collaborating with other engineers to deploying new Databases through our large automated systems, and operationally supporting your newly deployed software. You will seek out new approaches to automate fixes for operational issues, use AWS services to solve design problems, and engage other internal teams to integrate your applications with theirs.

Platform Engineering Services - Database Team is responsible for Engineering, Architecture, operations ,support and Scaling of databases for Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT), WWCR (WW Customer Returns) and Gift Cards systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ Experience with RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL), Redshift and/or other RDBMS systems
- Exposure to at least one procedural language such as Python, Ruby, Java, Perl
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience in AWS services
- Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby or Perl
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in software development and experience in managing and troublshooting network
- Experience in supporting large-scale high-availability systems in a production environment.
