About the Role and Team:

This role is a senior leadership position responsible for the end-to-end manufacturing operations of EV

battery packs. As Production Head - Battery you will serve as the strategic and operational head of the

production unit, bridging the gap between high-level business goals and shop-floor execution.

The primary mandate is to optimize resources (manpower, machinery, material) to meet TAKT times

while driving the modernization of the production line through Industry 4.0 and Manufacturing

Execution Systems (MES). Success in this role is defined by strict adherence to safety (EHS), rigorous

quality control (Six Sigma/Lean), and P&L ownership for the production unit.

  • Operational Strategy & Leadership
  • Providing Leadership: Lead and mentor the production team, ensuring alignment with the

company’s strategic goals and production targets for Battery packs.

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily shop floor operations, ensuring resources (manpower,

machine, material) are optimized to meet TAKT time and delivery schedules.

  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize KPIs, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and real-time

production data to make informed decisions regarding capacity planning and resource allocation.

  • Driving Success: Take ownership of P&L for the production unit, managing operational costs

(OPEX) and reducing wastage.

  • Process Control & Technical Excellence
  • Production Technical Expertise: Oversee critical battery pack processes including cell sorting,

spot welding, BMS installation, and final testing. ensuring adherence to Processing Details and

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Digital Manufacturing: Champion the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, MES

(Manufacturing Execution Systems), and automation to modernize the production line.

  • Process Control and Improvement: Monitor process parameters rigorously to ensure

consistency in battery performance and safety.

  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Drive TPM initiatives to maximize machine uptime,

implementing autonomous and planned maintenance schedules.

  • Quality & Continuous Improvement

Defect Identification and Analysis: Implement robust quality gates; lead investigations into

production failures or non-conformances using Process Optimization & Analysis of Root Causes

(RCA) tools (e.g., Fishbone, 5 Why).

Lean Manufacturing: Deploy Lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, VSM) to eliminate waste and

streamline workflows.

Experience and Qualifications:

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.

(M.Tech or MBA Operations is a plus).

Experience: 14+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership

role.

Specific experience in EV Battery Pack assembly, Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS),

or Automotive Tier-1 manufacturing is highly preferred.
