Manager I, Operations, External Fulfillment

DESCRIPTION
As an Operations I Manager focused on Defect Reduction, you will work with India's leadership team to identify, analyze, and eliminate defects across Amazon's operations to serve our customers better. Your primary responsibility will be to deep-dive into data, identify root causes of defects, and recommend and pilot improvements that enhance customer experience — in line with our goal to be Earth's Most Customer-Centric Company.You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across fulfillment, transportation, customer service, and seller service to drive systemic improvements that reduce concessions, contacts, and quality failures. We are looking for high-potential, analytical, innovative, and forward-thinking professionals to join our India Operations team.

Key job responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end defect analysis across fulfillment, transportation, and delivery operations to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
- Drive defect reduction through systematic defect identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Develop and pilot process improvements to reduce customer/seller service contacts
- Build mechanisms to track, monitor, and improve quality metrics across the fulfillment network
- Conduct market and competitive analysis for transportation and supply chain parameters
- Identify and prevent financial leakage when working with external partners (carriers and 3P partners)
- Analyze third-party seller order fulfillment data to create mechanisms that improve quality and reduce defects
- Enhance customer returns experience by reducing defects in the reverse logistics process
- Develop operating plans to improve partner performance and monitor outcomes
- Address transportation and supply chain issues pertaining to new geographies where Amazon has a potential marketplace
- Implement data processing frameworks for supervising quality and driving continuous improvement
- Participate in business review meetings and contribute to data-driven decisions on quality improvement parameters
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to summarize and communicate complex data insights to stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills to drive initiatives with a diverse set of cross-functional stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Excel skills with experience handling Macros/Look-ups
- SQL skills, including the ability to write and troubleshoot queries, extract and manipulate data from relational databases, and generate reports to support operational decision-making
- Coursework related to supply chain management, production planning, and control
- Knowledge of Kaizen, LEAN methodology, and Six Sigma techniques
- Solid organizational and project-management skills
- Experience with data visualization tools and reporting dashboards
