Description:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining Process Safety Management (PSM) systems to ensure safe plant operations. Conducts hazard identification studies, risk assessments, HAZOP reviews, incident investigations, and Management of Change (MOC) evaluations. Ensures compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Coordinates process safety audits, emergency preparedness activities, and employee safety training programs. Monitors critical process safety parameters, identifies potential risks, and recommends corrective and preventive actions to prevent accidents and improve overall plant safety performance. Maintains process safety documentation and supports continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.


Essential Functions:

  • Implement and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
  • Conduct process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOP, risk assessments, and safety reviews.
  • Monitor critical process safety parameters and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Investigate process safety incidents, near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review Management of Change (MOC) activities and ensure proper risk evaluation.
  • Support emergency response planning and conduct mock drills.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, SOPs, and company policies.
  • Coordinate safety audits and track closure of observations.
  • Provide process safety training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Maintain process safety documentation and records


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
  • Participate in HAZOP, What-If, and risk assessment studies.
  • Review and monitor Management of Change (MOC) activities.
  • Assist in investigation of process safety incidents, near misses, and deviations.
  • Track and close process safety action items within agreed timelines.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Support emergency response planning and mock drill activities.
  • Ensure safety-critical equipment inspections and testing are completed as scheduled.
  • Maintain process safety documentation, records, and reports.
  • Coordinate process safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.

Education:

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering

Experience:

  • 2 - 4 Years
