About the Role
The Associate Director, Procurement is a strategic leader of our global procurement function, responsible for driving procurement transformation, optimizing enterprise spend, and serving as a critical strategic business partner across all organizational levels. This role manages complex supplier relationships across multiple geographies and time zones and ensures alignment between procurement strategies and corporate objectives. The position encompasses direct management of procurement personnel involved in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement operations, contracts administration, and compliance across our global supply chain.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
  • Strategic Advisory: Serve as a strategic advisor to all levels of management on all matters related to sourcing and procurement, offering insights and recommendations to optimize processes and achieve business objectives.
  • Sourcing Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies through competitive bidding, proofs-of-concept, demand management, supplier consolidation, and process reengineering efforts that align with the company's overall business goals, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and social responsibility.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers globally, negotiating and drafting favorable terms into contracts, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain across multiple geographies, and prepare data-driven presentations to support informed sourcing decision-making.
  • Mentor, coach and develop the procurement team of Associates and specialists within the organization as needed, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce overall expenses without compromising on quality, performance, or ethical standards. Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and value optimization.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks within the global supply chain, including geopolitical, regulatory, environmental, social, and operational risks, and develop mitigation plans to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Business Function Leads, Category Leads, Third Party Risk, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Sustainability teams in the negotiation of General Services Agreements, Engagement Letters, and Statements of Work.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all sourcing and procurement activities comply with corporate policies, ethical standards, legal requirements, regulatory frameworks across all jurisdictions of operation, and anti-corruption laws (such as FCPA).
  • Operations: Execute day-to-day sourcing operations supporting the team's ability to execute on sourcing strategy and meet organizational procurement objectives.
DECISION MAKING AND INFLUENCE
  • Deep understanding of global procurement best practices, including multi-currency transactions, international trade compliance (tariffs, regulations, trade agreements), and cross-border supply chain management.
  • Expertise in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) integration across the procurement lifecycle, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring to drive sustainable and ethical supply chains.
  • Proficiency with digital procurement platforms and technologies (ERP systems, e-procurement tools, supplier risk management platforms, spend analytics, contract management systems, and AI-driven procurement solutions).
  • Strong data analytics and business intelligence capabilities, leveraging insights to drive evidence-based sourcing decisions, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, promoting inclusive procurement practices and supporting minority-owned, women-owned, and other diverse supplier enterprises.
  • Skilled in third-party risk management, vendor due diligence, compliance auditing, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellence in stakeholder management and relationship building across functions, geographies, and organizational levels, with ability to influence without direct authority.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Essential:
  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA), Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CPPO, APICS CSCP, or equivalent.
  • At least 10+ years of strategic sourcing experience with a proven track record of success in a strategic sourcing and operations role.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a global or international procurement environment, managing supplier relationships and sourcing activities across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing procurement teams, with clear examples of mentoring, talent development, and building high-performing procurement functions.
  • Proven experience with enterprise procurement platforms, e-procurement systems, spend analytics tools, supplier risk management platforms, and contract management systems.
  • Experience negotiating complex contracts, including General Services Agreements (GSAs), Statement of Works (SOWs), and enterprise agreements with strategic suppliers.
  • Demonstrated success in cost optimization initiatives, delivering measurable savings while maintaining quality and service levels.
  • Experience in vendor risk management, third-party due diligence, compliance auditing, and knowledge of regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience with AI-powered procurement tools, machine learning applications, or advanced analytics in supply chain.
