About the Role

We are seeking a Photo Retoucher (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on image editing, photo retouching, visual quality assessment, computer vision datasets, and AI-generated image evaluation.

In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated image edits, retouched photographs, product images, portraits, and visual enhancement outputs. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for image editing, photo enhancement, computer vision, and creative AI applications.

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in photo retouching, image editing, photography, graphic design, post-production, e-commerce imaging, or creative media.

Responsibilities

• Create deliverables addressing real-world image editing and photo enhancement scenarios.
• Annotate and evaluate AI-generated image edits, retouched photographs, product images, portraits, and creative visual content.
• Assess AI outputs for image quality, realism, consistency, color accuracy, and professional editing standards.
• Perform professional photo retouching, including blemish removal, skin smoothing, wrinkle reduction, object cleanup, and natural-looking image enhancements while preserving realistic textures.
• Conduct skin and product cleanup by removing dust, scratches, reflections, unwanted objects, imperfections, and distracting elements from portraits and commercial product photography.
• Edit and enhance images using Adobe Photoshop, including layers, masks, adjustment layers, selection tools, cloning, healing tools, frequency separation, and non-destructive editing workflows.
• Apply color correction techniques by adjusting exposure, white balance, contrast, saturation, color grading, tonal balance, and color consistency across image sets.
• Evaluate AI-generated edits for natural appearance, edge quality, artifact removal, consistency, and adherence to editing requirements.
• Identify editing artifacts, unrealistic retouching, color inconsistencies, masking errors, and quality issues in AI-generated outputs.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in image editing, photo enhancement, and visual quality assessment.
• Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Photography, Visual Arts, Multimedia, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in photo retouching, image editing, photography, graphic design, post-production, or e-commerce image editing.
• Professional photo retouching for portraits, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and commercial photography.
• Performing skin and product cleanup while maintaining realistic image quality and natural textures.
• Using Adobe Photoshop for advanced retouching, masking, compositing, object removal, layer management, and non-destructive editing.
• Applying color correction techniques to ensure accurate colors, consistent lighting, balanced tones, and publication-ready images.
• Reviewing AI-generated image edits for visual quality, realism, editing precision, and production readiness.
• Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom, Capture One, Adobe Camera Raw, or similar image editing software is preferred.
• Strong artistic judgment, visual attention to detail, and quality-focused mindset.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated images for editing quality, realism, and commercial usability.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fashion, beauty, advertising, product photography, e-commerce, publishing, or creative agencies.
• Experience with high-volume commercial retouching and color-managed workflows.
• Familiarity with AI-powered image editing tools, generative AI, computer vision datasets, or image annotation projects.
• Knowledge of photography workflows, RAW image processing, and digital asset management is an advantage.
• Portfolio demonstrating professional retouching work is highly desirable.
