Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Professor of Ophthalmology to join a reputed and well-established hospital/medical institution in Madurai. The ideal candidate should have strong academic credentials, extensive clinical experience, and a passion for teaching and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Ophthalmology
• Provide advanced clinical care in ophthalmic subspecialties
• Guide and mentor junior faculty, residents, and postgraduate students
• Participate in academic planning, curriculum development, and examinations
• Supervise and support research activities, publications, and clinical studies
• Ensure adherence to medical ethics, NABH/MCI/NMC guidelines, and institutional protocols
• Contribute to the overall growth and reputation of the department and institution
• Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs, workshops, and conferences

Eligibility Criteria

• MD/MS/DNB in Ophthalmology from a recognized medical institution
• Minimum 10–15 years of post-qualification experience, including teaching experience as per NMC norms
• Prior experience as Associate Professor / Professor preferred
• Strong academic background with research publications (desirable)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
