Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA)
- Understand drawing and specification requirements, develop QC plans & MFRs, FAIs
- Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and purchased parts as per defined specifications and standards.
- Verify conformance to drawings, purchase requirements, and quality standards.
- Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers for rejection, return, and corrective actions.
- Support supplier evaluation and monitor supplier quality performance.
- Conduct incoming inspection and ensure only conforming materials are released for production use.
- Develop inspection and sampling methodology and use of statistical tools to develop and maintain QC programs
- Maintain inspection records, material inspection reports, and traceability.
- Ensure adherence to inspection plans, standards, and quality procedures.
- Ensure proper identification and disposition of non-conforming materials (rework / return / scrap).
- Use quality tools such as 7 QC tools, 5-Why analysis, and Fishbone diagrams to investigate issues.
- Assist in reducing material rejection, scrap, and rework through effective analysis and actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, 5S).
- Maintain quality documentation including inspection reports, NCRs, and CAPA records.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality management system requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to incoming material quality.
- Prepare and present quality and rejection trend reports.
- Work closely with manufacturing/process teams to analyze rejections happening on the production line due to material issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis of material-related defects identified at the manufacturing stage.
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurrence.
- Provide feedback to suppliers and internal teams on material quality issues affecting production.
- Track rejection trends linked to incoming materials and drive improvement actions.
- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Electronics or related fields
- Quality certifications (ISO, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) are an added advantage
- 3–5 years of experience in Quality, particularly in incoming quality inspection (IQA) and supplier quality (SQA)
- Familiarity with measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, height gauge, etc.), analytical techniques and advanced measurement systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
- Knowledge of NCR, rejection handling, and CAPA processes.
- Exposure to material rejection analysis and supplier coordination is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing sector (engineering goods, products, automotive, EMS) is required.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible to ensure the quality of incoming raw materials and components used in manufacturing. The role focuses on supplier quality, incoming inspection, and effective resolution of material-related rejections in a product/equipment/engineering industry. He/She will collaborate closely with the manufacturing/process teams to analyze and resolve material rejection issues occurring on the production line, ensuring root cause elimination and continuous improvement.
