Assistant Professor of English

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English literature, language, and writing with clear, engaging, and student‑centered pedagogy.
• Develop and update curricula, syllabi, and assessment tools that align with university standards and accreditation requirements.
• Mentor and guide students on academic projects, dissertations, and research activities.
• Conduct scholarly research, publish findings in reputable journals, and present at conferences.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and college‑wide initiatives.
• Engage in community outreach, workshops, and seminars to promote literary culture.
• Maintain regular office hours for student consultations and academic advising.
• Supervise student internships, projects, and extracurricular activities related to English studies.

Essential Qualifications

• M.A. in English from a recognized university.
• B.A. in English.
• UGC NET Qualified Assistant Professor (Mandatory).
• Ph.D. in English is desirable/preferred as per UGC norms.

Desired Experience

• Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in colleges or universities.
• Evidence of scholarly publications, conference presentations, or ongoing research projects.
• Experience in curriculum development, assessment design, and use of modern educational technologies.
• Familiarity with accreditation processes and academic quality assurance practices.

Location Preference

Preference will be given to candidates from Jabalpur or other locations within Madhya Pradesh.
