Role Description The Structural BIM Modeller role at Escher Labs is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. In this role, the team member will develop, manage, and update structural BIM models, ensuring that they accurately reflect design intent, construction requirements, and coordination needs. Daily responsibilities include interpreting structural and construction drawings, modeling building components, and collaborating with architecture and MEP teams to resolve clashes and maintain data consistency. The Structural BIM Modeller will support project documentation, produce detailed views and schedules, and adhere to company and client BIM standards. The role involves close coordination with project managers and engineers to meet deadlines, maintain quality, and contribute to continuous improvement of BIM workflows.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and be proficient with relevant BIM software tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).
  • Candidates should possess skills related to Architecture and structural modeling, with the ability to interpret and translate design concepts into accurate 3D models.
  • Candidates should possess skills as a Modeler, including 3D visualization, parametric modeling, and attention to geometric and data accuracy.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) coordination and Construction Drawings interpretation to support multi-disciplinary integration.
  • Relevant experience in structural BIM projects within the AECO industry, preferably with mid- to large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction workflows, building codes, and industry standards related to structural design and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and manage time and priorities in a project-driven environment.
  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline; BIM certification is an added advantage.
