Engineer - Production

- Production Planning & Execution: Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans as per PPC schedules; monitor hourly production and initiate corrective actions to avoid production losses; ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, tooling, and materials; support line balancing and production capacity optimization; monitor production efficiency, OTIF, and schedule adherence; coordinate with Planning, Stores, Quality, and Maintenance for uninterrupted production.
- Manufacturing Process Engineering: Improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency; develop and standardize manufacturing methods for existing and new products; conduct process capability studies and identify opportunities for process optimization; perform time studies, motion studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis; reduce manufacturing cycle time and eliminate process bottlenecks; support industrialization of new products through production trials and process validation; prepare and update Process Flow Charts, SOPs, Work Instructions, and Standard Work documents; recommend tooling, fixture, and machine improvements for higher productivity; support automation, poka-yoke, ergonomics, and digital manufacturing initiatives; participate in PFMEA, Control Plan preparation, and process risk assessments.
- Process Control & Continuous Improvement: Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); monitor critical process parameters and take corrective actions whenever deviations occur; lead Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, WCM, and 5S initiatives; drive productivity improvement and manufacturing cost reduction projects; identify and eliminate waste using Lean principles; improve OEE through reduction of losses and improved process stability; support SMED activities to reduce changeover time.
- Quality Management: Ensure compliance with product specifications and customer requirements; ensure First Piece Approval before production; monitor in-process inspection activities; reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints; participate in Root Cause Analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and CAPA; coordinate with Quality Assurance for corrective and preventive actions; improve First Pass Yield (FPY) through process improvements; ensure traceability and proper quality documentation.
- Maintenance & Equipment Management: Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities; monitor machine downtime and support corrective actions; assist in installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation of new equipment; ensure machine
- Safety, Health & Environment: Ensure compliance with all plant safety rules and statutory requirements; promote safe work practices and PPE compliance; conduct regular shop-floor safety inspections; participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation; maintain excellent housekeeping through 5S implementation; support environmental compliance and waste reduction initiatives.
- Inventory & Material Management: Monitor Raw Material, WIP, and Finished Goods inventory; ensure FIFO implementation throughout production; coordinate with Stores for timely material availability; minimize material loss and inventory discrepancies; support inventory control and cycle counting activities.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare daily production reports and shift reports; maintain downtime, rejection, and productivity records; update MIS dashboards and production KPIs; maintain ISO/IMS documentation; support internal, customer, and external audits; maintain process documentation and revision control.
- Manpower Development: Coordinate operators and technicians for smooth production; develop operator skill matrices; conduct on-the-job training for operators; monitor attendance and shift deployment; improve operator productivity through coaching and guidance; foster teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement culture.
