Job Role: Senior Sourcing Engineer

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure supplier capabilities align with technical requirements.
  • Conduct cost breakdown analysis and value engineering to drive cost savings.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for electrical components and systems.
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Familiarity with supply chain risk management and dual sourcing strategies.
  • Assist with business procedure set-up, optimization, training and internal audit, SHEQ supplier audit and periodically customer assessment
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Supplier Quality activities.
  • Support new product localizations to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards.
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
  • Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
  • Manage the Supplier's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support quality audits for suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System

Mission:

  • As a PSD Sourcing team member your objective is to work with cross-functional teams for products and projects.
  • You will work in the Sourcing department in the PSD division and shall, together with your colleagues, create a dynamic and flexible team.
  • Our mission is to develop and maintain customer-oriented Sourcing team that provides PSD with an optimised supplier base to support PSD business goals and strategies
  • Support and be a part of regional sourcing team

Experience requirements:

  • Experience in Mining / Earthmoving equipment /off-road vehicles.
  • 7-9 years of experience in sourcing/procurement of electrical components.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL)

Knowledge requirements:

  • Hands-on Experience in Power Bi/MS Office/M3/Creo
  • Drawings detailing and GD &T.
  • Knowledge of Materials and engineering change management
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, schematics, specifications etc.
  • Good understanding of industry standards (IEC, UL, RoHS).
  • Ability to compare and finalise alternate Material grades considering applications.
  • Strong knowledge about processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational and follow-up skills.
  • Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning and decision-making

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Personality requirements:

  • Energetic, positive, open-minded, team player, willing to learn and approachable.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate different stakeholders.
  • Travel to customer site as and when required.
