Job Description: A Senior Accountant manages financial accounting processes, ensures the accuracy and compliance of financial reports, and oversees general ledger activities. Key duties include preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, leading month-end closing, and analyzing complex financial data to provide insights for executive decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, thorough knowledge of accounting principles like GAAP, and often involves supervising junior staff and liaising with management on financial strategy. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, analyze financial data, and provide insightful reports to management.
  • General Ledger & Reconciliation: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and manage bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Process & Control Management: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Auditing & Compliance: Support internal and external audits, assist with tax returns and audits, and ensure all financial activities are compliant with regulations.
  • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Team Leadership: Plan, assign, and review the work of accounting assistants and junior accountants, providing guidance and mentorship.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is typically required, with a master's degree or CPA certification often preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong analytical skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and hands-on experience with accounting software.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is essential for managing complex financial data and reports.
  • Communication & Collaboration: The ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and communicate complex financial information clearly to management.
