Professional Skills Draftsman with experience in 2D telecom/structural drawings using AutoCAD for wireless telecom sites including 5G upgrade projects. Ability to interpret design documents, survey data, and construction drawings to produce accurate outputs. Key Responsibilities
- Study and analyze project inputs such as structural data, antenna details, transmission layouts, and shelter configurations for telecom 5G upgrade projects as SAED designer.
- Review and understand existing site conditions including lattice tower, equipment shelter, electrical systems, and antenna configurations.
- Prepare site layout, antenna layout, site elevation, equipment shelter layout, and construction drawings as per Optus standards.
- Develop structural drawings for mounting steelwork, face mounts, antenna supports, and tower modifications.
- Create detailed drawings for installation of new equipment including RRUs, GPS antennas, filters, and associated ancillaries.
- Prepare retrofit drawings for recovery, relocation, and reconfiguration of existing telecom equipment (antennas, cables, feeders, RRUs).
- Ensure compliance with standards (AS/NZS, Optus specifications, OSD drawings) in all deliverables.
- Support electrical and earthing layouts including labeling, grounding systems, and power configurations.
- Coordinate with design, verification, and project teams to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness.
- Deliver high-quality drawing packages in DWG and PDF formats within project timelines. Knowledge / Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD (2D drafting) in telecom domain.
- Understanding of telecom infrastructure (towers, antennas, RRUs, shelters).
- Knowledge of 4G/5G upgrade projects and antenna system configurations.
- Familiarity with structural steelwork drawings and mounting design.
- Understanding of electrical layouts, earthing, and site power systems.
- Ability to read and interpret RF diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and quality-check skills.
- Awareness of site safety, access protocols, and telecom regulations. Additional Skills AutoCAD, Telecom Structural Drafting, RF & Antenna Systems, Electrical Layout Understanding.
