Job Purpose

The Engineering Designer develops and revises product designs by applying engineering principles under moderate supervision. This role ensures that designs meet established quality, performance, manufacturability, and usability standards while preparing accurate technical documentation for new and revised products. The position collaborates closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to support product development activities.

A glimpse of your daily mission

  • Develop product designs of moderate complexity based on engineering requirements, project needs, and design criteria while ensuring alignment with quality standards.
  • Create and maintain computer-aided design engineering layouts using CREO, developing multi-dimensional models that accurately represent design concepts.
  • Analyze designs for form, fit, function, manufacturability, assembly, and usability through engineering calculations and design reviews.
  • Select appropriate materials, standard components, and engineering specifications using technical references, catalogs, and existing product information.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to obtain information related to prototype fabrication, materials, processes, and purchased components.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including engineering change orders, bills of materials, parts lists, specifications, and related technical records.
  • Provide accurate estimates for design activities and communicate progress updates to support project schedules and milestones.
  • Work closely with engineers to resolve design issues, review design criteria, and support product development initiatives.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, marketing, engineering information technology, model shop, and product analysis teams as required.
  • Support prototype development and product validation activities to ensure successful implementation of designs.

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 0–1 year of experience in a design engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience with CREO is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, design practices, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to create and document product designs across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative product development environment.
  • Experience with SAP, particularly Variant Configuration, is an advantage.
  • Experience in commercial office furniture design, especially laminate and wood/veneer case goods, is a plus.
