Overview

TMS is an industry leading transportation management solution that enables value to market’s transportation operations through centralized visibility, routing & optimization, process & information, and vendor cost management. PepsiCo’s TMS is deployed to 4 separate instances supporting each sector (NORTH AMERICA, LATAM, Europe, AMESA/APAC). It optimizes aprox. 80% of total global primary transportation spend. TMS Functional Lead is someone who can provide strategic solution leadership, architecture governance, transformation leadership, and innovation ownership in addition to deep functional expertise

Scope:

  • Act as primary TMS solution lead, super user, and business expert
  • Lead system governance activities
  • Lead new deployment and sustain activities

Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities:

Blue Yonder TMS Solution Leadership

  • Serve as the global Blue Yonder Transportation Management System (TMS) Solution Architect and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PepsiCo's transportation capabilities.
  • Executes the TMS solution roadmap, architecture standards, and best practices across sectors and markets.
  • Provide thought leadership and advanced solution design guidance for complex transportation planning, execution, visibility, and settlement processes.
  • Ensure alignment of TMS capabilities with PepsiCo's global transportation strategy and digital supply chain transformation priorities.

Solution Design & Delivery Excellence

  • Partner with IT delivery teams to architect scalable, standardized, and sustainable solutions for global and regional deployments.
  • Lead solutioning for complex business requirements, ensuring optimal utilization of Blue Yonder TMS capabilities while minimizing customizations.
  • Drive adoption of standardized transportation processes and system capabilities across sectors and markets.
  • Act as the escalation point for critical design decisions, production issues, and solution governance reviews.

Product Capability Expansion & Innovation

  • Lead the introduction and adoption of advanced Blue Yonder capabilities, including but not limited to:
    • Transportation Smartbench
    • Job Server & Automation Framework
    • Ocean Booking
    • Carrier Collaboration
    • Dynamic Routing & Optimization
    • Visibility & Control Tower capabilities
  • Evaluate emerging transportation technologies and industry trends to drive continuous innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with Global Transportation Capability teams to identify, assess, and pilot next-generation transportation solutions.

Blue Yonder Cloud Transformation Execution

  • Support PepsiCo's Blue Yonder Cloud migration and modernization initiatives from a solution deployment perspective.
  • Partner with business, IT, infrastructure, integration, and vendor teams to ensure successful program delivery and value realization.
  • Drive post-migration stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement activities.

Vendor Partnerships

  • Act as the primary PepsiCo point of contact for Blue Yonder product management, customer success, and technical leadership teams.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Blue Yonder to influence product direction and advocate for PepsiCo business requirements.
  • Manage vendor escalations and ensure timely resolution of critical production and enhancement requests.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Special Interest Group (SIG) engagements, and roadmap discussions with Blue Yonder.

Operational Excellence & Issue Resolution

  • Provide senior-level support and guidance for complex transportation and system-related issues impacting business operations.
  • Monitor and govern the resolution of critical incidents and enhancement requests raised through Blue Yonder Customer Success channels.
  • Ensure service reliability, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of transportation processes and platforms.

Organizational Capability Building

  • Establish and drive a comprehensive TMS knowledge management and capability development framework.
  • Lead end-user education programs through live training sessions, digital learning content, and knowledge repositories.
  • Mentor and upskill TMS delivery teams on solution architecture, advanced configuration, optimization, and industry best practices.
  • Drive automation and process efficiency initiatives within the TMS support and delivery organization.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10–12+ years of Supply Chain and Transportation Management experience, including 8+ years of hands-on experience with Blue Yonder TMS (formerly JDA TMS).
  • Proven experience leading global TMS implementations, transformations, upgrades, and cloud migration programs.
  • Deep expertise across transportation planning, optimization, execution, freight settlement, carrier management, and logistics visibility processes.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong expertise in Blue Yonder TMS architecture, master data, configuration, integration, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of transportation integrations including ERP, WMS, carrier EDI/API connectivity, visibility solutions, and supply chain ecosystems.
  • Understanding of transportation analytics, KPI frameworks, and process automation.

Leadership Competencies

  • Executive stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into technology roadmaps.
  • Strong program leadership and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
  • Experience managing strategic vendor relationships and governance forums.
