JOB DESCRIPTION

Weatherford is seeking an experienced R&M Technician III – Tubular Running Services (TRS) to support the inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, and refurbishment of TRS equipment and associated drilling tools. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, operational readiness, and compliance with Weatherford's Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), and operational standards.

Working in a dynamic workshop and offshore support environment, the R&M Technician III will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and help ensure equipment is ready for safe and efficient deployment to customer operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on TRS equipment and associated systems.
  • Inspect, service, repair, and refurbish mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Diagnose equipment faults, troubleshoot failures, and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct functional testing and verification of TRS equipment in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment complies with operational, customer, and quality requirements prior to deployment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment history within the company's maintenance management systems.
  • Provide technical maintenance support for offshore operations when required.
  • Ensure full compliance with Weatherford HSE policies, quality standards, and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and risk assessments.
  • Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Support inventory management by assisting with spare parts control and equipment tracking.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance effectiveness and operational excellence.
  • Comply with all company policies, customer requirements, industry regulations, and offshore safety standards.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, drilling tools, and maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals, and engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience using workshop tools, measuring instruments, lifting equipment, and inspection devices.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards and safe work practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Computer literacy with experience using maintenance reporting or asset management systems.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing maintenance activities in both workshop and offshore environments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in oil & gas equipment maintenance or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing Tubular Running Services (TRS) equipment or similar drilling tools.
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience working in offshore drilling, rental tools, oilfield services, or similar operational environments.
  • Valid offshore certifications, as applicable.
  • Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Weatherford TRS equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Previous offshore rig maintenance experience.
