Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing inspection, supplier quality development, and quality issue resolution for bought-out components and systems including seal systems, mechanical seals, lube oil systems, gearboxes, turbines, engines, motors, and related mechanical instruments. The role requires strong knowledge of welding, ASME codes, international standards, and product certification requirements such as PED and ATEX. The candidate should work closely with global suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure consistent product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Handle inspection and quality management of bought-out suppliers supplying seal systems, mechanical seals, lube oil systems, gearboxes, turbines, engines, motors, and mechanical instruments.
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes and develop supplier capabilities to ensure consistent, repeatable quality.
  • Establish and support step-by-step SOPs, risk analysis, and mitigation plans for supplier processes.
  • Analyze quality issues observed at supplier end during manufacturing and support resolution, corrective action, and process improvement.
  • Drive NCR management through effective engagement with suppliers, ensuring proper root cause analysis and corrective action closure.
  • Work with key suppliers to build a lean culture and drive continuous improvement in product and process quality.
  • Monitor and report monthly Supplier Quality KPIs, including:
  • First Pass Acceptance
  • Supplier NCRs
  • Supplier Performance
  • Drive internal and external audits and conduct audits as required during problem analysis and supplier evaluations.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams including manufacturing, purchasing, production, and field service/repair.
  • Support resolution of quality issues raised from internal operations, supplier processes, and customer feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 QMS requirements, material standards, API standards, and ISO standards.
  • Apply knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, API Spec Q1, and API Monogram requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA management, and corrective action request tracking.
  • Support product certification requirements related to PED and ATEX.
  • Maintain strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills while managing global supplier relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8–10 years of experience in Quality, preferably in seal systems, mechanical seals, turbines, engines, or related rotating equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, ASME codes, API standards, ISO standards, and international quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of product certification requirements including PED and ATEX.
  • Experience in supplier quality, NCR management, RCA, CAPA, audits, and process improvement.
  • Internal auditor certification or experience in QMS audits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
  • Strong English communication skills, including fluent business conversation.
