Software Engineer 2 – Process AutomationRole Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, debug, and enhance software solutions for Process Automation systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C++, multithreading, memory management, and debugging, along with domain knowledge in industrial automation controllers and field devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance C++ applications for Process Automation products.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects, memory leaks, and performance issues.
  • Develop and optimize multithreaded applications with a focus on reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and product enhancements.
  • Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and problem-resolution meetings.
  • Make technical decisions and provide guidance to team members on architecture and implementation approaches.
  • Work with automation systems including controllers, field devices, I/O modules, and control blocks.
  • Ensure software quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to engineering best practices.

Required Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in C++.
  • Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, synchronization, and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience in identifying and resolving memory leaks and complex debugging scenarios.
  • Strong knowledge of software design principles, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with debugging tools, profilers, and diagnostic techniques.

Domain Expertise

  • Experience in Process Automation or Industrial Automation systems.
  • Understanding of:
    • Controllers
    • Field Devices
    • I/O Modules
    • Function Blocks / Control Blocks
    • Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or related automation platforms
Communication & Leadership

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently lead technical meetings and stakeholder discussions.
  • Capable of driving technical decisions and influencing engineering direction.
  • Strong collaboration and mentoring abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded or real-time systems.
  • Exposure to industrial communication protocols and automation architectures.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
