The Industrial Engineering Manager will lead and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness within HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED. This role involves applying industrial engineering principles to improve operational performance and support strategic business goals.

Job Responsibilities:**

  • Lead and manage a team of industrial engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain industrial engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices across manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct time studies, motion studies, and process analyses to identify bottlenecks, waste, and areas for improvement.
  • Design and optimize production layouts, material flow, and workstation designs to enhance efficiency and ergonomics.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other relevant methodologies.
  • Develop and implement capacity planning models to ensure optimal resource utilization and meet production demands.
  • Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and identify trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and R&D to drive operational excellence.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and equipment to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for management on process improvements and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

Job Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering roles within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in process mapping, time studies, capacity planning, and layout optimization.
  • Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
