Role/ Job Title: Audit Executive-Business Process
Function/ Department: Internal Audit
Job Purpose:
As an Audit Executive – Business Process (Retail Liability Branch Audit) within the Internal Audit function, you will play a key role in conducting branch audits across the Bank's retail liability network on a Pan-India basis. The role involves reviewing branch operational processes, evaluating adherence to internal policies, audit scope, audit checklists, and regulatory requirements, including RBI guidelines. The incumbent will be responsible for executing audits within defined timelines, preparing audit reports and working papers, updating audit status in ServiceNow, and supporting the overall effectiveness of the Internal Audit function.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Audit Manager in defining the audit scope, objectives, and testing approach for branch audits.
- Conduct Retail Liability Branch Audits across Pan-India branch locations as per the approved audit plan.
- Review branch operational parameters, processes, and controls in accordance with the approved audit scope and audit checklist.
- Evaluate compliance with RBI regulations, internal policies, SOPs, and other regulatory requirements applicable to branch operations.
- Execute audit procedures and control testing within agreed timelines and in accordance with Internal Audit methodology.
- Verify operational compliance across areas such as account opening, KYC/AML, customer service, cash operations, clearing operations, secured stationery, locker operations, and other branch activities.
- Prepare audit observations, working papers, supporting documentation, and audit reports in a structured manner.
- Identify operational, regulatory, compliance, and control gaps, including unusual or potentially fraudulent transactions.
- Discuss audit findings with branch management and obtain responses for identified observations.
- Update audit findings, action plans, supporting documents, and audit status in ServiceNow and other audit management systems.
- Monitor and follow up on the closure of audit observations and validate implementation of corrective actions.
- Support preparation of periodic MIS, management presentations, and audit committee reporting.
- Develop functional expertise in branch banking operations and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Capture and share best practices and key audit learnings within the audit team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance audit effectiveness and operational understanding.
- Stay updated on RBI guidelines, regulatory developments, and emerging risks impacting branch operations.
- Contribute to audit methodology enhancements, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and team development activities.
- Graduate Degree in Commerce, Arts, Science, Biology, Business, Computers, Engineering, Management, or related fields.
- Postgraduate Degree in Finance, Marketing, Operations, or related disciplines.
- Professional Qualifications such as CA, Law, FRM, or CS are preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of total work experience, preferably in internal audit, risk management, branch banking operations, or related functions.
