PRIME FUNCTION
To manage end-to-end procurement activities including supplier evaluation, negotiations, purchase order processing, material follow-ups, and ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery requirements in alignment with organizational needs.
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and develop potential suppliers as per quality, cost, and delivery parameters.
- Conduct commercial negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Prepare, release, and monitor purchase orders ensuring accuracy and timely approvals.
- Track order status, follow up with suppliers, and ensure timely material delivery.
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams to understand material specifications and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain and update supplier databases, price lists, and procurement records.
- Analyze purchasing data, supplier performance, and market trends to support procurement strategies.
- Support the development and improvement of purchasing processes, policies, and systems.
- Resolve supplier-related discrepancies, delivery issues, or quality concerns promptly.
- Ensure adherence to procurement guidelines, audit requirements, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Authority to negotiate with suppliers within the defined commercial limits.
- Authorization to raise purchase orders as per approved requisitions and procurement policies.
- Authority to coordinate directly with suppliers, internal departments, and support functions.
- Authority to recommend supplier selection, price revisions, and alternative materials.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering / B.Com / B.Sc / Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 5–7 years
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and cost evaluation skills.
- Good understanding of engineering materials, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Proficient in procurement processes, sourcing, and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with supplier management and contract negotiation tools.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Hands-on experience with ERP procurement modules.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for data analysis.
- AS9100 QMS and Documentation awareness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management abilities.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- On-time delivery performance (OTD) from suppliers.
- Cost savings achieved through negotiations and sourcing strategies.
