Accounting Executive (Australian Accounting)

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Executive with strong bookkeeping and accounting experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in managing general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple client accounts. Experience working with Australian or international clients, along with proficiency in cloud accounting software, will be highly preferred. This role requires excellent analytical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality accounting services.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for multiple client accounts.
- Maintain General Ledger and Sub-Ledger accounts with accuracy.
- Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and inventory records.
- Process payroll transactions and payroll reconciliations.
- Perform sales and Point-of-Sale (POS) reconciliations.
- Record journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and month-end adjustments.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile financial data and ensure the integrity of accounting records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Analyze financial information and identify discrepancies for timely resolution.
- Ensure financial records comply with accounting standards and company policies.
Client Management
- Communicate professionally with domestic and international clients through email and virtual meetings.
- Respond to accounting queries and provide timely financial support.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service.
- Manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and audit-ready records.
- Adapt quickly to new accounting software and business processes.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, process documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
- Support team members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Participate in training, professional development, and organizational initiatives.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Expertise in General Ledger and Sub-Ledger Accounting.
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Bank, Credit Card, and Account Reconciliation.
- Payroll Processing and Fixed Asset Accounting.
- Inventory Accounting and POS Reconciliation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client assignments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
- Additional accounting certifications or professional qualifications will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance.
- Experience managing General Ledger accounting for multiple businesses.
- Experience working with an Accounting Firm, Bookkeeping Firm, BPO, or outsourced accounting services is highly preferred.
- Exposure to Australian or international accounting clients will be an added advantage.
