About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead / Head – SAP to own the end-to-end SAP landscape for our manufacturing operations. The role demands strong cross-module expertise across MM, PP, SD, FICO, QM (Quality) and PM (Plant Maintenance), with the ability to lead a small team, partner with business process owners, and drive automation and continuous improvement across supply chain, production, quality, sales and finance functions.

This is a hands-on leadership role — you will be equally comfortable configuring the system, resolving critical production issues, and presenting an SAP roadmap to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Landscape Ownership

  • Own administration, configuration, and support of the SAP ECC 6.0 environment across all core modules (MM, PP, SD, FICO, QM, PM).
  • Manage the full change lifecycle: requirement gathering, functional specs, configuration, testing in QAS, transport management, and PRD deployment.
  • Ensure system availability, performance, month-end/year-end closing support, and timely resolution of incidents within agreed SLAs.

Cross-Module Functional Expertise

  • MM: Procurement, inventory management, MRP, vendor management, subcontracting, movement types, valuation and account determination.
  • PP: Production planning, BOMs, routings, work centers, process orders, batch management, capacity planning.
  • SD: Sales order processing, pricing, credit management, distributor/depot billing, deliveries, and dispatch processes.
  • FICO: GL, AP/AR, asset accounting, cost center/profit center accounting, product costing, business area/profit center derivations, and integration with logistics modules.
  • QM: Inspection plans, in-process and incoming quality checks, usage decisions, batch release, and quality certificates.
  • PM: Equipment master, maintenance plans, preventive/breakdown maintenance orders, and spares integration with MM.

Integration, Automation & Improvement

  • Drive automation initiatives using BAPIs/RFCs, middleware, and modern tools (e.g., forms-based workflows, Python/API-based integrations, AI-assisted solutions).
  • Lead master data governance (material, vendor, customer, BOM) and data quality initiatives.
  • Identify process gaps and implement system-driven controls for excise/regulatory compliance, inventory accuracy, and production reporting.
  • Evaluate and plan future roadmap items (e.g., S/4HANA migration readiness, analytics, integrations with third-party systems).

Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and mentor a small team of SAP functional/technical resources and coordinate with external AMC/implementation partners.
  • Work in a "two-in-a-box" model with business process owners, ensuring shared accountability for projects.
  • Manage IT governance for SAP: authorizations and role management, audit compliance (internal/statutory), documentation, and licensing.
  • Prepare budgets, negotiate with vendors, and report project status and KPIs to management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (MBA or SAP certification preferred).
  • 10–15 years of SAP experience in a manufacturing / process industry environment, with strong hands-on knowledge across MM, PP, SD, FICO, QM and PM (deep expertise in at least 2–3 modules; working proficiency in the rest).
  • Experience with at least 1–2 full-cycle SAP implementations or rollouts, plus sustained support/enhancement experience.
  • Strong understanding of cross-module integration points (e.g., MM–FICO account determination, PP–QM batch release, SD–FICO revenue flows).
  • Working knowledge of ABAP debugging, BAPIs, user exits, and interfaces (IDoc/RFC/API) — enough to specify and validate technical work.
  • Experience managing QAS-to-PRD transport cycles, cutovers, and audit requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred / Good To Have

  • Experience in alcoholic beverages, brewery, FMCG, or excise-regulated industries (state excise compliance, bottling/batch operations, distributor management).
  • Exposure to S/4HANA (migration assessment or greenfield/brownfield projects).
  • Familiarity with automation and analytics tools: Power BI, Python-based middleware, RPA, Microsoft Power Platform, or AI-assisted workflows.
  • Experience working with Azure or other cloud environments for SAP-adjacent applications.

What We Offer

  • Leadership ownership of the complete SAP landscape for a growing manufacturing organization.
  • Opportunity to drive digital transformation, automation, and AI adoption initiatives from the ground up.
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
  • [Add: benefits, insurance, bonus structure, etc.]
