Frontend Developer (Fresher)
Kuvaka Tech
Kuvaka builds open-source AI solutions for healthcare, manufacturing, and enterprise — and delivers customisation into client businesses through senior engineering pods in fixed 7-day sprints. Every solution we ship is production-grade, every engagement is transparent, and every engineer on our team works with full ownership of what they build.
We are an AI-first company with real products, real clients, and a culture built on reliability and craftsmanship.
The Role
You've built projects. You know React basics. You've deployed something to the internet. But you haven't shipped code that thousands of users depend on — until now.
This is a full-time role. We'll expect you to grow fast, learn in production, and take ownership. We'll also give you people to learn from and space to develop into a solid engineer.
You'll be uncomfortable sometimes. That's the point. Discomfort is where growth happens.
What You Will Do
- Work inside a delivery pod with senior engineers, backend developers, product managers, and designers.
- Build React components, manage state, and handle API integration.
- Implement responsive designs that work across devices.
- Participate in code reviews and sprint cycles.
- Debug issues and ship fixes.
- Take feedback, iterate, and improve.
- Strong React fundamentals: Hooks (useState, useEffect, useCallback), functional components, component lifecycle.
- Comfort with modern JavaScript (ES6+): arrow functions, destructuring, promises, async/await.
- HTML and CSS proficiency: flexbox, grid, responsive layouts.
- Ability to fetch data from APIs and integrate it into React components.
- Git basics: clone, commit, push, pull — comfortable working in teams.
- A shipped project (internship, portfolio, hackathon, or deployed app showing real code).
- Experience managing component state with Context API or a state library.
- Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first principles.
- Familiarity with browser DevTools (debugging, network tab, console errors).
- Basic testing exposure (Jest or React Testing Library).
- Experience with TailwindCSS, styled-components, or similar.
- Deployed a React app (Vercel, Netlify, or GitHub Pages).
- Familiarity with Figma or basic design tool understanding.
- Knowledge of performance optimisation (lazy loading, code splitting).
- Previous experience in a team environment with code reviews and feedback.
- Week 1–2: Shadow code, understand our architecture, deploy a small feature.
- Week 3–4: Own a component or small feature end-to-end.
- Month 2: Start taking ownership of features with support.
- Month 3+: Ship independently with code review.
- You'll be paired with senior developers, given real problems, and reviewed at every step.
- Your first real job matters. You could join a consultancy and build 50 micro-features, or join Kuvaka and build real products — products that matter, that users depend on, that move businesses.
- You'll work alongside engineers who care about code quality and shipping. You'll see what production-grade really means. Your code this week runs in production next week.
- You'll see AI integration, cloud infrastructure, and modern product development. You won't be building CRUD apps — you'll be building components of systems that solve real problems.
- Growth is fast. If you ship and improve, that shows.
