Public Relations Manager
SaffronStays
Job Description
Role: PR & Communications Manager Experience: 3–4 years, preferably with a journalism background (print, digital, broadcast, or wire) Location: Mumbai, with travel to properties]
About the Role:
We're looking for a sharp, story-driven PR & Communications Manager to build and protect SaffronStays' voice in the media and public eye. This is a high-ownership role for someone who has sat on the other side of the table as a journalist and understands what makes a story land, what a newsroom needs, and how to build relationships that outlast a single pitch.
You'll own media relations, press narratives, brand reputation, and communications across a fast-growing portfolio of properties, homeowner stories, founder visibility, and company milestones.
Key Responsibilities -
Build and execute the PR and communications strategy for SaffronStays — brand, founder, and property-level narratives.
Develop press releases, media kits, bylines, and pitch angles for national, business, travel, and lifestyle media.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and key media across print, digital, and broadcast.
Secure earned media coverage and manage the end-to-end press cycle — pitching, follow-up, coordination, and clipping.
Draft and place op-eds, thought-leadership pieces, and founder bylines.
Manage reactive and crisis communications, protecting brand reputation.
Partner with marketing to align PR narratives with campaigns, launches, and property openings. Coordinate media interviews, press events, property visits/press trips, and briefings.
Track media coverage, sentiment, and share-of-voice; report on PR impact.
Support internal communications and messaging for key company announcements.
What We're Looking For
3–4 years of experience, with meaningful time spent as a journalist (reporter/correspondent/desk) before or alongside PR work
Excellent writing and storytelling skills, able to spot and shape a story, not just write a press release. Existing relationships with journalists and editors across business, travel, lifestyle, and consumer beats.
Strong news judgment and understanding of what makes something newsworthy.
Comfort working directly with founders/leadership on messaging and positioning.
Ability to manage multiple narratives (brand, homeowner, property) at once.
Bonus: experience in hospitality, travel, real estate, or consumer lifestyle sectors.
What You'll Get
Ownership of brand narrative for one of India's fastest-growing hospitality brands.
Direct access to leadership.
A fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with real scope to build a function from the ground up.
