Our backend runs on EKS / Kubernetes in AWS. Our microservices are written in Python / Flask, and we use PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ.

The Impact You’ll Make

• Work on a SaaS product used by thousands of businesses across 39 countries, helping companies track and manage employee spend.
• Engineer backend services that handle :6 million external API requests daily
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Engineering to craft impactful features that are used at this scale.
• Take full ownership of features - from design and development to deployment and monitoring - while keeping performance and reliability top of mind.
• Be part of a team where code quality, automation, and system resilience are non-negotiable standards.
• Publish learnings through technical blogs, amplifying impact beyond the company.

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of professional experience building and scaling backend systems, who can bring both technical depth and leadership maturity to the team.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed systems.
• Ability to dive deep into debugging, performance tuning, and system design.
• Write and review engineering design docs holistically and act as a final PR reviewer in one or more areas of the product.
• Ability to productively use AI Tools and IDEs to their advantage

Leadership & Ownership

• Break down initiatives into milestones, estimate effectively, and deliver complex features with minimal oversight.
• Mentor engineers and provide constructive feedback, and collaborate across Product, Frontend/Backend, and Support teams.
• Identify technical debt, propose roadmap improvements, introduce better practices (monitoring, tests, CI/CD), and participate in recruitment.
