Junior Purchase Manager

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Junior Purchase Manager to join our SCM/procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of components and raw materials required for the production of electromechanical devices. This role demands strong technical understanding, vendor management skills, and the ability to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

Responsibilities

Source material and get processes outsourced for mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components from vendors/subcontractors.
Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
Manage vendor relationships and develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Raise purchase orders (POs) in ERP systems and ensure proper documentation and compliance with procurement policies.
Track order status, coordinate logistics, and ensure on-time delivery of materials.
Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to understand material specifications and requirements.
Monitor inventory levels to avoid material shortages or overstocking.
Analyse purchase data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
Assist in supplier audits and vendor performance evaluations.

Requirements

Qualification: Diploma or degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Diploma or degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an engineering manufacturing setup, preferably dealing with electromechanical components.
Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical components used in electromechanical devices.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
Proficient in MS Office and experienced with ERP systems (SAP B1).

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with procurement processes for the tool room, motors, and electromagnets.
Understanding of supply chain dynamics in a manufacturing environment.
