Job Description – Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Engineer:

Key Responsibilities

Perform incoming inspection of raw materials & bought-out parts as per inspection plans and specifications.
Verify supplier material test certificates and other quality documents.
Conduct dimensional & visual inspections using appropriate measuring instruments.
Review incoming inspection records and maintain traceability of inspected materials.
Identify, segregate and control non-conforming materials.
Communicate quality issues to suppliers and coordinate corrective actions to ensure the quality of regular supply parts.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities with suppliers.
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards and internal procedures.
Monitor calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment.
Maintain quality records and prepare inspection reports.
Coordinate with suppliers to obtain and review Layout Inspection Plans for critical components.
Perform Layout Inspection for critical parts to ensure part conformity & Corrections.

Required Skills

Knowledge of quality tools and inspection techniques.
Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
Ability to select appropriate gauges and instruments based on drawing requirements.
Understanding of material specifications and testing requirements.
Aware of general manufacturing processes & standards.
Knowledge of defect identification and classification.

Required Qualifications

B.E./ B. Tech in Mechanical / Production.

Should have balanced technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills
