Job Summary
- The Manager, Compensation is responsible for the day-to-day governance and administration of compensation programs for Ventra, ensuring pay decisions are consistent, competitive, and compliant with local regulations. This role manages offer and internal movement approvals, supports the annual salary review and bonus cycles, maintains job grading and salary structures, and partners closely with Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Payroll and other HR stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely execution of compensation processes. This is a hands-on role suited for a compensation professional with solid technical grounding who is ready to own a full-cycle compensation portfolio for the India market.
- Review and approve compensation for new hire offers and internal movements (promotions, transfers, lateral moves), ensuring alignment with salary structures, internal equity, and budget guidelines.
- Administer the annual salary review cycle, including data preparation, modeling, guideline development, manager enablement, and post-cycle audits.
- Administer the annual bonus/incentive cycle, including calculation methodology , eligibility checks, payout modeling, and reconciliation with Finance and Payroll.
- Manage incentive plan administration for applicable colleagues , ensuring accuracy and timely payout in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Own job evaluation and grading for new and existing job descriptions, applying job evaluation methodology consistently across the organization.
- Maintain and periodically update salary structures/pay bands based on market benchmarking and internal equity analysis.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and statutory requirements relating to compensation (e.g., minimum wage rules, bonus act provisions, gratuity, PF, tax as relevant to comp design).
- Partner with the Payroll team to ensure accurate translation of compensation decisions into payroll processing, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Support internal audits and statutory/regulatory reporting requirements related to compensation.
- Prepare compensation analyses, reports, and dashboards for HR and business leadership as needed.
- Respond to compensation-related queries from HRBPs, managers, and employees, providing guidance grounded in policy and market data.
- Support ad hoc compensation projects (e.g., market benchmarking studies, pay equity analysis, new market entry pay structures) as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required;
- 5–6 years of progressive experience in compensation management or total rewards, ideally within a multinational, shared services, or matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated experience managing salary review and bonus cycles end-to-end.
- Experience with job evaluation/grading methodologies (e.g., Mercer IPE, Korn Ferry/Hay, Willis Towers Watson, or similar).
- Working knowledge of statutory compliance requirements for India / US / Philippines as they relate to compensation.
- Experience in using HRIS and/or compensation planning tools preferred.
- Experience with compensation survey platforms (Mercer, WTW, Aon, Radford, etc.) preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to model scenarios and translate data into clear recommendations.
- Solid understanding of compensation principles, including pay equity, market pricing, and total rewards philosophy.
- Working knowledge of labor law s for India / PH / US and statutory compliance as applicable to compensation administration.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly given the sensitivity and confidentiality of compensation data.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent cycles and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain compensation concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong cross-functional working relationships, particularly with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Payroll, HRBPs, and Finance.
- Discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Comfortable operating with a degree of autonomy while knowing when to escalate policy or compliance questions.
- Base Compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons .
- This position is also eligible for a discretionary incentiv e bon us in accordance with company policies .
