Links Players
Remote
Area directors are hired on a full-time or part-time (exempt) basis and are responsible for raising their own financial support as well as financial resources for broader work in their assigned area.
Ministerial Interaction
- Develop relationships with golfers in the assigned area for the express purpose of communicating the gospel and kingdom of Jesus Christ.
- Establish ongoing meetings with small groups (Links Fellowships) and/or individuals for Bible study and discipleship.
- Establish and maintain pastoral/ministerial relationship with individual men and women. This will include, but is not limited to: preparing and conducting Bible studies, offering personal biblical advice and providing references to professional counseling, and performing religious services such as weddings and burials.
- Cultivate relationships among Christian golfers for the purpose of encouraging them to start Links Fellowships in and around clubs.
- Respond to inquiries received by Links Players regarding starting Links Fellowships in the assigned area. Assist and encourage these inquirers as they move toward launching their Fellowship.
- Annually assemble the leaders from Links Fellowships in the area for general fellowship and training (this may be done in conjunction with the annual assembly of Fellowship leaders in the region).
- Recruit and train area representatives (AKA Links Players representatives), who will conduct oversight of 4-6 Links Fellowships in assigned small locales within the area.
- Meet with area representatives for ongoing support and training. This should be done both individually and in groups of area representatives.
- Meet semi-annually with each area advisory team to assess the work of the area director, cast vision with the team, and give and gather ideas for advancement of ministry with the area and region.
- Develop relationships with instrumental followers of Christ who share and will support the Links Fellowships vision spiritually and financially.
- Establish and maintain contact with a group of supporters, communicating by newsletter and/or e-mail what God is doing to change golfers’ lives. Include an opportunity for giving with each mailing.
- Establish and meet regularly with an area advisory team for the purposes of sharing spiritual insight as a body of Spirit-led leaders in the region and facilitating the practical advance of the ministry in the region, including development of a budget and fulfillment of income needs.
- Attend all-staff meetings of Links Players staff, as scheduled by national leadership for each year. (Typically one vision/human resources call each January and one physical meeting each summer.)
