Account Executive (Australian Accounting)

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Account Executive to join our Australian Accounting team. This opportunity is ideal for CMA-qualified professionals who are looking to build a rewarding career in Australian Accounting and Taxation. The role offers hands-on exposure to Australian bookkeeping, financial reporting, taxation, payroll, and compliance while working with Australian clients in a structured and learning-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Australian Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounts for Australian clients.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and general ledger accounts.
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare Individual and Business Tax Returns.
- Prepare and assist in lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS).
- Support GST compliance and reconciliations.
- Prepare supporting schedules and working papers for taxation and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation regulations.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
- Assist in audit support and preparation of working papers.
- Perform revenue, expense, and variance analysis.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Client & Team Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of client assignments.
- Communicate professionally with Australian clients through email and virtual meetings when required.
- Support senior accountants in day-to-day accounting and taxation activities.
- Assist in training and supporting new team members whenever required.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and taxation concepts.
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal English communication.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Australian accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks will be an added advantage.
Qualifications
- CMA (Cost & Management Accountant)
Experience
- 1 to 2 years of accounting experience are welcome to apply.
- Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, or audit will be preferred.
- Exposure to Australian Accounting or Australian Taxation will be an added advantage.
