About the Role
The Knowledge Banker – Early-Stage Startups is a consultative client acquisition role within the Startup Banking Segment, focused on onboarding bootstrapped and seed-funded ventures. This high-energy role involves engaging with startup founders, converting targeted leads into active banking relationships, and delivering tailored financial solutions. The incumbent will also represent the bank in startup ecosystems, contribute to market intelligence, and drive fee-based revenue growth through customized offerings.

Primary Responsibilities
Sales & Startup Acquisition
- Drive targeted acquisition by engaging with pre-identified early-stage startups and converting them into banking clients.
- Conduct outreach, pitch banking solutions, and build relationships with startup founders, CFOs, and finance teams.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for current account openings, deposit mobilization, and transaction banking solutions.
- Manage provided acquisition leads with high conversion rates through consistent follow-ups and engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with early-stage startup clients, offering tailored banking solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping startups structure scalable banking operations.
- Network with incubators, accelerators, co-working spaces, and startup communities to identify new leads and opportunities.
- Stay updated on startup trends, funding rounds, and financial needs to offer relevant solutions.
- Represent the bank at startup events, pitch competitions, and networking forums to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Identify opportunities for fee-based revenue generation through transaction banking, payments, and cash management solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized banking solutions for early-stage startups.
- Proactively enhance customer engagement and long-term retention.
- Conduct local product campaigns and contribute to training initiatives for the broader sales team.
- Share market insights and best practices to improve startup banking strategies.
Education
- Graduation: Bachelor’s degree in any relevant stream
- Post-graduation: Any discipline (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in sales, startup engagement, financial services, or business development.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, especially with startup founders and finance teams.
- Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage client portfolios.
- Understanding of startup ecosystems, funding structures, and financial needs.
- High energy, self-driven, and goal-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and represent the bank externally.
- Strategic thinking with a customer-first approach.
