Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar PV Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience in solar power plant installation, operation, and maintenance. The candidate will be responsible for installation, electrical works, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient operation of solar PV systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Assembly
- Install and assemble module mounting structures and solar PV modules as per project drawings.
- Carry out module-to-module wiring and DC string connections.
- Ensure proper alignment and secure fixing of solar panels and associated components.
- Perform DC and AC cable laying, routing, termination, and connection activities.
- Support inverter, transformer, SCB/JB, and other electrical equipment installation.
- Execute string combining, cable dressing, and electrical interconnection works.
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and voltage tests.
- Verify string open-circuit voltage (Voc) and system performance parameters.
- Assist in commissioning and synchronization activities of solar power plant equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of solar PV systems.
- Clean PV modules and inspect plant equipment to ensure optimum energy generation.
- Identify and troubleshoot faults in modules, cables, inverters, and associated electrical systems.
- Monitor system performance and report abnormalities.
- Adhere to all site safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company HSE standards.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment at site.
- Knowledge of solar PV system installation and maintenance.
- Understanding of electrical wiring, cable termination, and testing procedures.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, layouts, and single-line diagrams (SLD).
- Familiarity with testing instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, and earth resistance meters.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for solar plant equipment.
- ITI in Electrician, Wireman, Fitter, Electronics, or related trade.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in utility-scale solar power plant installation, commissioning, or O&M activities.
- Willingness to work at project sites and travel as required.
- Physically fit to work in outdoor site conditions.
