Behavioral Scientist

At ALLEN Digital, we are transforming education through technology, data, and evidence-based learning. We are looking for a Behavioral Scientist who is passionate about understanding how students think, learn, and make decisions. This role will leverage insights from behavioral science, educational psychology, cognitive science, and learning sciences to improve student engagement, learning outcomes, motivation, and academic success.
Working closely with Academic, Product, Content, Research, and Data teams, you will design and evaluate interventions that help students build effective learning habits, overcome learning barriers, and achieve their full potential
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research to understand student behavior, motivation, learning patterns, attention, and decision-making.
- Design and evaluate behavioral interventions to improve student engagement, consistency, retention, and academic performance.
- Collaborate with Academic and Product teams to integrate behavioral science principles into learning experiences, study plans, assessments, and student journeys.
- Design experiments, surveys, interviews, and observational studies to generate evidence-based insights.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify behavioral trends and recommend actionable improvements.
- Apply concepts such as habit formation, motivation, self-regulated learning, cognitive biases, goal setting, and behavioral nudges to improve student outcomes.
- Develop frameworks that encourage sustained learning, reduce procrastination, and improve course completion.
- Translate research findings into practical recommendations for educators, curriculum designers, and product teams.
- Stay updated on emerging research in behavioral science, educational psychology, cognitive science, and learning sciences.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's or PhD in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Cognitive Science, Learning Sciences, Behavioral Economics, Neuroscience, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in behavioral research, education, edtech, learning sciences, or applied behavioral interventions.
- Strong understanding of experimental design, behavioral research methodologies, and statistical analysis.
- Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Python, R, SPSS, Stata, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in EdTech, educational institutions, learning research, or student-focused organizations.
- Knowledge of instructional design, learning analytics, or curriculum development.
- Experience designing interventions to improve student engagement, learning outcomes, or academic performance.
- Experience working with adolescent learner demographics, particularly students aged 12–16 years, with exposure to understanding their behavioral patterns, motivation, and learning needs
- Familiarity with educational assessments, learner behavior analytics, or digital learning platforms.
