The Operations Support function provides services to our operational assets, including onshore gas plants, offshore gas platforms, offshore FPSOs and other functions and groups such as Projects. While we provide services, organisationally we are a part of Operations which is the production business unit
About the role
The EDM Scope Lead (Global Solutions) is accountable for the effective delivery and operational performance of Engineering Data Management (EDM) services, ensuring engineering data is executed, controlled, and maintained in accordance with approved governance frameworks, processes and standards.
Operating within established guardrails, the role delivers EDM services at scale, manages demand across facilities and projects, embeds assurance into day‑to‑day execution, and identifies, escalates, and routes exceptions to Global Excellence where risk, safety-critical decisions or SME resolution is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the EDM support contract for services on behalf of Operations. Accountable for end-to-end performance and post-award contract management.
- Plan, coordinate and measure the performance of the SPP delivery teams across multiple locations
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and task prioritisation for SPP services.
- Ensure delivery teams operate within defined standards, quality thresholds, and SLAs.
- Resolve conflicts with internal stakeholders, remove barriers and enable the delivery team to meet agreed performance SLAs.
- Manage contracts consistent with the Contracting and Procurement Our WMS requirements.
- Manage EDM escalations arising from operational delivery, and service performance.
- Coordinate and prioritise EDM demand across all base business support and delivery areas
- Ensure engineering data is created, updated, maintained and published accurately across EDM systems within defined approval and quality controls.
- Support consistent application of EDM processes across assets and delivery teams.
- Execute EDM activities with embedded quality checks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, traceability, and system alignment.
- Monitor compliance to EDM standards and identify deviations, defects, or systemic issues.
- Initiate corrective actions for execution‑level issues and escalate risks or non‑standard scenarios as required.
- Escalate exceptions that require risk acceptance, safety-critical, or governance decisions to EDM SME.
- Support investigation and resolution of systemic/data and process issues in collaboration with business focal points and SPP partners.
- Propose improvements to workflows, tools, and delivery models to Global Excellence team.
- Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives (people, process, systems) to improve service quality, throughput, and user experience.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Experience delivering Engineering Data Management services within a large-scale project, operational or asset environment.
- Sound knowledge of EDM standards, processes, systems, and workflows.
- Experience coordinating outsourced SPP service delivery within defined performance frameworks.
- Experience identifying operational inefficiencies and contributing practical improvement and automation opportunities within established governance frameworks.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry
- Strong leadership capability, including the ability to coordinate, coach, and guide SPP teams to meet service expectations and quality standards.
- Highly developed problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose operational issues, determine root causes, and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
- Strong coordination and prioritisation capability within defined delivery guardrails.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement and issue resolution skills.
- Attention to detail with a focus on execution quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively across operations, digital, and project environments
