The Assistant Manager – HR will be responsible for supporting the People & Culture function. This role will work closely with employees, reporting managers, business leaders, and internal support teams to ensure smooth execution of core HR processes and a positive employee experience. The role will cover key areas such as employee engagement, grievance handling, onboarding, exits, learning and development coordination, performance management support, HR policy implementation, internal communication, and employer branding.


Job Responsibilities:


1) Employee Relations & Grievance Handling:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, concerns, and grievances.
  • Conduct regular employee connects to understand employee concerns, experience, and workplace feedback.
  • Handle employee grievances with maturity, confidentiality, and fairness.


2) Employee Engagement & Culture Initiatives:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute employee engagement activities as per the engagement calendar.
  • Work with internal teams, remote teams, vendors, and stakeholders for smooth event execution.
  • Collect feedback after key initiatives and identify ways to improve the employee experience.


3) Onboarding & Joining Formalities:

  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for all new joiners.
  • Track onboarding checklist completion and proactively follow up on pending items.
  • Collect new joinee feedback and share relevant inputs for process improvement.


4) Exit & Retention Support:

  • Coordinate the exit process for employees as per internal guidelines.
  • Schedule and conduct exit interviews.
  • Support retention discussions wherever required.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments for clearance and smooth exit formalities.
  • Share relevant exit insights with the reporting manager for further action.


5) Learning & Development Coordination:

  • Work with managers and HR leadership to identify training and capability-building needs.
  • Support the planning and execution of learning and development initiatives across teams.
  • Coordinate training schedules, participant communication, attendance, feedback collection, and completion tracking.
  • Maintain training records and support follow-ups for participation and completion.
  • Assist in creating a learning-focused culture by encouraging employees to participate in relevant sessions.


6) Performance Management Support:

  • Support the execution of performance management cycles, including goal setting, reviews and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate with managers and employees to ensure performance-related processes are completed on time.
  • Track goal-setting completion for new joiners, role changes, and existing employees.
  • Support documentation and follow-up for Performance Improvement Plans wherever applicable.
  • Maintain accurate performance-related records in HR systems.


7) HR Policy Implementation & Compliance:

  • Ensure employees are aware of internal policies, processes, and expected workplace conduct.
  • Conduct policy orientation for new joiners and relevant employee groups.
  • Support policy acknowledgment drives and compliance-related HR activities.
  • Track policy compliance and escalate gaps or concerns wherever required.
  • Support annual compliance and policy training initiatives.


8) Internal Communication & HR Newsletter:

  • Support monthly internal communication through HR newsletters and people-related updates.
  • Work on improving the quality, clarity, and presentation of internal HR communication.
  • Ensure timely circulation of newsletters and important people updates.


9) HR Systems, Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Update and track HR processes on systems such as KEKA, ClickUp or other internal tools.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee data and HR records.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 4-6 years of experience in HR operations, HR generalist, employee engagement, or HRBP support role.


Key Skills Required:

  • Good understanding of HR operations and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle employee concerns with maturity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across functions and teams.
  • Comfortable using HR systems and internal tracking tools.
  • Strong execution ability for engagement initiatives and HR processes.
  • Basic understanding of employee relations, performance management, HR policies, and L&D coordination.
  • Attention to detail and ownership mindset.
  • Ability to balance employee experience with business requirements.
