Manager – Indirect Taxation

As a Manager - Indirect Taxation, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing applicable government incentives for the Aurangabad plant. You will ensure end-to-end GST compliance, including accurate tax positions, statutory reporting, return filings, management reporting (MIS), and coordination of audits. You will manage assessments, audits, and litigation matters related to legacy indirect taxes, including Excise Duty, VAT, CST, and Service Tax. You will ensure Customs compliance, including SVB renewals, Project Import benefits, regulatory reporting, and management of customs-related assessments and litigation. You will drive continuous improvement in tax-related processes, reporting mechanisms, MIS, and record-keeping practices to enhance compliance, governance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibility Areas

You will ensure 100% compliance across all indirect tax areas, including GST, Customs, Excise, Service Tax, Professional Tax, Entry Tax, VAT, and CST for Goodyear South Asia Tyres Limited operations.
You will manage all aspects of Maharashtra Government incentive programs, including timely accruals, claim filings, follow-ups, and receipt of incentives.
You will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems, processes, MIS, and IT-enabled solutions to support efficient tax compliance, reporting, governance, and incentive management.
You will effectively manage ongoing, historical, and future indirect tax litigations, assessments, audits, and departmental inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing business risk.
You will provide timely and accurate guidance to business stakeholders on indirect tax and government incentive matters to ensure business continuity and informed decision-making.
You will proactively identify tax planning and optimization opportunities within the applicable legal and regulatory framework and drive initiatives to realize potential savings and efficiencies.
You will monitor and control costs associated with tax operations, compliance activities, audits, and litigation while ensuring effective risk management.
You will ensure timely, accurate, and effective reporting, record keeping, and compliance management related to indirect taxes and government incentives.

Education and Experience

You are a professionally qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost & Management Accountant (CMA/ICWA), or MBA, with apprenticeship experience gained in a reputed CA firm.
You have approximately 12 years of post-qualification experience in managing State Government incentives and indirect taxation, including GST, Customs, Excise, VAT/CST, Service Tax, and related tax matters within a manufacturing environment.
You possess strong knowledge of indirect tax laws, compliance frameworks, tax litigation management, and government incentive schemes.
You have hands-on experience working with SAP and demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Travel Requirement

You will be required to travel regularly to the Aurangabad manufacturing plant to support business operations & stakeholder engagement, typically for 3-4 days per month.
