To ensure a safe working environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, ensuring statutory compliance, investigating incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor all EHS policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
  • Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, State Factory Rules, and other applicable safety regulations.
  • Organize safety induction training for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks, mock drills, and safety awareness programs.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor the use of PPE and ensure compliance across all departments.
  • Issue work permits (Hot Work, Height Work, Confined Space, Electrical Isolation, etc.) and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate fire safety activities, emergency response, and evacuation drills.
  • Maintain statutory records, safety registers, and EHS documentation.
  • Coordinate with government authorities during inspections and audits.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with company safety requirements.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports and MIS.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (DIS/ADIS/PGDIS or equivalent).

Experience

  • 3-8 years of experience as a Safety Officer in a manufacturing, distillery, bottling, FMCG, chemical, or process industry.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and legal compliance.
  • Good understanding of fire safety, risk assessment, and emergency preparedness.
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • MS Office and report preparation.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI).
  • Reduction in unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • 100% statutory compliance.
  • Timely closure of safety observations.
  • Completion of safety training as per the annual plan.
  • Successful completion of internal and external safety audits.
