Role Overview:
The Program Fellow – Shikshak will be a district-based, on-ground implementation lead, responsible for ensuring high-quality classroom delivery, effective teacher capacity building, and strong coordination with school leadership and government stakeholders. This role requires frequent school visits across the district and close collaboration with teachers, headmasters, education officials, and the central program team, as we roll the program out in Mahbubnagar, Telangana.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. School-level Implementation & Quality Support (40%)
- Conduct regular school visits across the district to support effective classroom implementation of the Shikshak program.
- Observe classroom sessions and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Support teachers in addressing implementation challenges and improving classroom practices.
- Engage Headmasters/Principals to strengthen school-level ownership, coordination, and program follow-through.
2. Government Stakeholder Coordination (20%)
- Maintain regular coordination with district- and block-level education officials (Dist Collector, Dist Education Officer, Academic Monitoring Officer, BEOs/MEOs).
- Support review meetings, field briefings, and follow-up actions with government stakeholders.
- Share field-level insights, progress updates, and implementation challenges with relevant officials, in coordination with the central team.
3. Support Training, Monitoring & Documentation (20%)
- Facilitation and logistics of teacher training, refresher sessions, and orientation meetings.
- Assist in administering program monitoring and evaluation tools such as surveys and assessments.
- Maintain basic program documentation, including but not limited to visit records, training reports, photographs, and field notes.
- Compile and submit periodic field updates and reports to the program team.
4. Organisational Support & Representation (20%)
- Support cross-program and organisational priorities beyond Shikshak, including special projects, pilots, or new initiatives.
- Take on ad-hoc responsibilities aligned with the needs of a fast-growing organisation, while upholding SVATAH’s values and standards.
Skills & Competencies:
- 2+ years of experience in the development sector preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Telugu (preferred).
- Ability to work independently in field-based roles, with minimal supervision and high self-direction.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ease in engaging teachers, school leaders, and government officials.
- Demonstrated observation, feedback, and facilitation skills related to teaching–learning processes.
- Basic proficiency in data collection, reporting & program documentation.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across schools within the district.
- High levels of ownership, accountability, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Compensation: ~ ₹ 45k-50k/month
