Job Summary
We?re looking for an experienced backend engineer to design, build, and operate cloud-native microservices using Spring Boot on Amazon EKS. You?ll own services end-to-end?from API and domain modelling, to containerization and CI/CD, to observability and operational excellence?working closely with product, architecture, and SRE.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end Spring Boot microservices with clean architecture and domain-driven design.
- Define API contracts, schemas, and integration patterns
- Lead performance tuning, scalability improvements, and resiliency designs.
- Implement advanced patterns: circuit breakers, retries/backoff, distributed tracing, idempotency.
- Integrate with AWS services: RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, MSK/Kafka.
- Own CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scans, and rollouts.
- Build observability: metrics, logs, tracing dashboards.
- Perform code reviews, mentor juniors, and drive engineering best practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decisions.
- Debug live production issues alongside SRE/DevOps teams.
- University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- >10 years backend experience, with deep expertise in Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of microservice architecture & distributed systems.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience
- Skilled in designing resilient systems and performance tuning.
- Experience with messaging systems (Kafka/SQS/SNS).
- Strong SQL and/or NoSQL background.
- CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions/GitLab/Jenkins).
- Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry etc).
- Ability to lead design sessions and mentor developers.
- Used to working in global environment and should be adaptable to learn new skills and follow industry trends.
