You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with daily routine checkups at the Gas Compressor Plant (GCP) to prevent nominal issues and site complaints. Your day will involve hands-on operation and maintenance of reciprocating compressors, close coordination with the Project Manager (PM), and proactive troubleshooting of compressor, driver, and process-related issues. You will ensure high standards of housekeeping, tool readiness, and spare availability while executing all activities in line with OEM manuals and safety practices. Your role directly contributes to safe, reliable, and uninterrupted plant operations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Ensure full compliance with daily routine checkups at the GCP to avoid nominal issues and site complaints.
- Perform maintenance and MOH of reciprocating compressors strictly as per OEM manuals.
- Troubleshoot compressors, drivers, and process-related issues.
- Maintain daily housekeeping of compressor packages through accurate cleaning and ensure zero oil and gas leakages.
- Ensure required spares are available at site and advise the Project Manager on spares-related issues.
- Ensure availability of all required mechanical tools in good working condition for the gas compressor plant.
- Work in close coordination with the Project Manager on operational and maintenance activities.
- Rigorously follow preventive maintenance schedules for all installed equipment and maintain records for internal and external audits.
- Ensure accurate and truthful reporting of all site-related matters.
- Supervise critical operational parameters including pressure, temperature, flow, gas compressors, air compressors, CWPs, separator vessels, RO systems, and other rotary and static equipment.
- Maintain operational hourly records and daily logs of critical parameters, running hours, maintenance and repair activities, and material or spares consumption.
- Ensure disposal of empty and burnt oil barrels strictly as per defined procedures and IM instructions.
- Carry out recommended POL make-up on running equipment, including force-feed lubricators.
- Execute all operations as per safe operating procedures and established safety practices.
- Immediately inform the Project Manager if any plant abnormality is identified.
- Maintain MIS duties including checklists, Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), and monthly reports.
- Coordinate with internal and external agencies during site visits, including Logistics, GCS, CTF Plant, other ONGC installations, and Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, and C&M departments for process operations and job execution.
- Ensure all documents and records prepared and maintained by shift in-charges are available for monthly or quarterly internal and external audits, including ONGC audits.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in operation and maintenance of oil and gas processing or process units.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary operating crews capable of efficiently operating reciprocating gas compressor packages and associated utilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools including MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of EHS practices applicable to oil and gas field operations.
