Job Summary
The Shift Officer - Dyeing is responsible for managing shift operations in the dyeing department, ensuring smooth production flow, effective manpower utilization, process adherence, quality achievement, and timely execution of production plans. The role involves monitoring dyeing and finishing processes, shade approvals, production coordination, machine utilization, ERP updates, safety compliance, and cross-functional coordination to meet operational and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Operations Management
- Ensure proper handover and takeover of shift responsibilities between incoming and outgoing shift teams.
- Monitor manpower availability and ensure optimum utilization of workforce during the shift.
- Review machine loading status, pending lots, and workflow movement to subsequent processes.
- Inform the Head of Department (HOD) regarding production status, delays, abnormalities, or operational issues.
- Maintain shopfloor discipline and adherence to departmental procedures.
- Coordinate with the Planning Department to manage urgent production requirements.
- Prepare dyeing drag slips and execute machine-wise and shade-wise production planning.
- Ensure all machines are running as per the planned schedule and production targets.
- Monitor the status of Hydro, RF, and Haccoba machines during the shift.
- Plan winding activities based on production priorities and shade requirements.
- Follow up on packing activities to ensure timely order completion.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Additional certifications in Dyeing, Textile Processing, or Production Management will be an added advantage.
- 1-3 years of experience in Dyeing Operations, Textile Processing, or Thread/Yarn Manufacturing.
- Experience in handling shift operations in a textile dyeing environment.
- Hands-on experience in shade matching, dyeing process control, and production coordination.
- Experience in using Computer Color Matching (CCM) systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production documentation.
- Experience working with Hydro, RF, Haccoba, or similar textile processing machines will be preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of dyeing and finishing processes.
- Expertise in shade matching and color evaluation.
- Experience with Computer Color Matching (CCM) systems.
- Understanding of process control and quality standards.
- Production planning and machine scheduling capabilities.
- ERP data entry and production reporting knowledge.
