Job Description

Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer
Experience: 5-8 Years
Location: Hyderabad, India

Role Summary

Own the design, build, and maintenance of the Internal Developer Platform (IDP’s) self-service tooling and infrastructure-as-code automation. This role is responsible for turning developer-facing self-service requests into provisioned, production-grade AWS/EKS infrastructure.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Author and maintain Terraform infrastructure-as-code for IDP tooling-triggered provisioning actions.
• Build application bootstrapping and cloud infrastructure definitions using Projen + AWS CDK.
• Integrate Cookiecutter-based project template generation into the IDP's self-service tooling action set.
• Configure JFrog artifact and pipeline integration for IDP tooling-triggered builds.
• Provision and manage AWS EKS as the target compute environment
• Integrate GitHub Actions (GHA) CI pipeline actions invoked directly by the IDP's self-service tooling.

• Backstage.io (plugins, IDP tooling/actions, TypeScript/JavaScript/React)
• Terraform (IaC authoring)
• Projen + AWS CDK
• AWS EKS – workload provisioning
• Kubernetes – strong (pods, deployments, services)
• AWS – strong (EKS, S3, CloudFront, VPC, IAM)
• CI/CD pipeline design (GitHub Actions)
• Design, orchestrate, and optimize pipelines using Argo Workflows.

Secondary Skills (Good-to-Have)

• Cookiecutter

• Observability basics (Prometheus/Grafana)
• Mainframe (IBM i/z) read-only catalog integration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5–8 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud/Infrastructure Engineering.
• Hands-on production experience with Terraform and AWS CDK (or equivalent IaC frameworks).
• Strong working experience with Kubernetes/EKS in production environments; CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) preferred.
• Prior experience building on or extending Backstage / internal developer platforms (IDPs); Certified Backstage Associate (CBA) is a plus.
• AWS certification (Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer) preferred.
